Top 5 London Picnic Hot Spots

Londoners (or visitors to London) rejoice. Summer is here, and parks are calling. Your next picnic adventure is just a baguette away. Here are 5 delicious spots, chosen by us, that make your next summer outing effortless… plus where you can pick up your nearest baguette because en route… well, what else is the perfect picnic snack?

Hyde Park

Nearest Upper Crust: Paddington (15 min walk away)

Why go: Beautiful lawns, serene lakes, and the iconic Serpentine – this one is the ultimate, the Beyonce of London parks. Home to British Summer Time, the Rose Garden, and about 1000 people walking their dogs, it is the ultimate picnic spot. And it’s just a short baguette-carrying stroll away from Paddington.

Picnic Pick: Chicken & avocado salad baguette. A classic, fresh, choice and paired with a mango & passion fruit cooler, it’s perfect for lounging about under the sun.

Regent’s Park

Nearest Upper Crust: London Euston Station (20 min walk, or catch the 205, 18, 30 bus for 14 mins)

Why Go: You might be mistaken for thinking Regent’s Park has it all… well it really does. There are beautifully manicured gardens, an Open Air theatre, London Zoo and sometimes you can spot actual peacocks wandering around (yes, really). Grab a couple of baguettes from London Euston and stroll on down before setting up shop well anywhere really. The Queen Mary Rose garden is an Instagrammable dream when in full bloom.

Picnic Pick: We’d happily get a prosciutto ham baguette and a homemade chocolate muffin from Upper Crust Euston. It’s a classy treat for a classy park feast.

Greenwich Park

Nearest Upper Crust: London Waterloo Station (27 min train ride to Maze Hill)

Why Go: Historic, hilly, and with one of the best panoramic views in London hands down, Greenwich Park is where science, history, and sunbathing all come together to coexist. Visit the Royal Observatory , straddle the Prime Meridian  where since 1884 all distances east and west have been measured from or well just lie in the grass and watch the clouds go by. Each to their own. Ideal for a picnic on the go from London Waterloo station.

Picnic Pick: Pick up a firecracker chicken baguette and a cinnamon swirl before jumping on a  train to Maze Hill, then a short walk to the park from there.

Primrose Hill

Nearest Upper Crust: King’s Cross Station (16 min on the Northern Line to Chalk Farm)

Why Go: A slightly lesser know spot, popular with locals, but still absolutely beautiful. With unbeatable views across London’s skyline and a great spot to accidentally on purpose bump into your favourite celeb walking their dog. Get your favourite Spotify playlist ready, headphones on, lie back, and enjoy a Summer afternoon on the hill.

Picnic Pick: Stop by our King’s Cross spot for our veggie classic – the bhaji & turmeric hummus baguette, grab a Summer special of our iced caramelised biscuit latte and fit in with the locals. A vibrant meal for a vibrant view.

St. James’s Park

Nearest Upper Crust: London Victoria Station (15 min walk)

Why Go: Right in the heart of London is the regal St James’s park – complete with pelicans (!), palaces and picture perfect flower beds. You can stroll past the ever historic Buckingham Palace, wave at a guard and then set up a picnic spread by the lake. Soak in the serenity and channel your inner King or Queen.

Picnic Pick: Our brand new Victoria Station location is just a short walk away. Shop for a ham & cheese melt with a classic americano. Or something you deem to be much more regal of course.
