Holiday bucket list – Upper Crust style

The holiday bucket list: things to do this festive season with an Upper Crust baguette

There’s no festive activity complete without a baguette in hand. No, seriously. Read our handy guide to this season’s latest accessory.

  1. Watch a Christmas movie

Move over popcorn, no movie marathon is complete without a baguette in hand. Whether it’s Home Alone, Love Actually or The Santa Clause, pick up one of our baguettes on your way home to watch alongside your favourite Christmas movie. Use it as a microphone to recite iconic lines or as a stick to point at someone when they try to claim Die Hard isn’t a Christmas movie.

  1. Visit a Christmas market

Big and little cities and towns spring alive with festive twinkling lights, the smell of mulled wine, ferris wheels and more. Whether it’s Cardiff , Oxford , Cambridge, Manchester , Birmingham, Leeds,  or a trip to London for Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland, Leadenhall’s festive celebrations, Southbank’s Winter Market, Spitalfields or Kings Cross Christmas .  There’s an Upper Crust at lots of major train stations. Do your bit for the environment, hop on a train, grab a baguette when you get there (or maybe one for your journey as well) and visit a Christmas market over this festive period.

  1. Go carol singing

Carol singing is great – not only because it hides the fact you’ve sung off key for the last decade in a chorus full of people, but also because you can truly live out your fantasies as the Queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey. Whilst on-the-go between houses, our baguettes serves as the perfect festive meal as they are wrapped up and ready to go. Get them heated to provide a bit of warmth when braving those winter nights. Bonus points if you use the baguette as a conductor’s batten.

  1. Wrap presents

Ahhh some alone time, just you, Christmas music, some wrapping paper and an Upper Crust festive feast. Okay, so we added that last bit on but what’s better than tucking into a hog roast baguette, a mince pie cookie muffin or a brie & cranberry melt (check those out here) whilst covering presents with festive paper and adorning with bows.

  1. Survive family games night

Board games are as integral to Christmas as turkey so before the board is actually thrown you can lighten the mood with a whole load of Upper Crust baguettes. If it’s Monopoly, Scrabble or Uno that gets the family all heated up, our pillowy soft sticks are the perfect stress relief, with a delicious range of fillings there is something for everyone to enjoy.

  1. Ice skating

The only reason for exercise during the festive season is ice skating, and the fuel you’ll need for it – a baguette. Make sure to eat well before, or as a hunger saver after, and never during – you’ll need your hands to break your fall on that the slippiest of surfaces.

However you’re deciding on spending the Christmas period this season, just know that an Upper Crust creation is always the perfect addition. It’s easy to grab, easy to go, and oh so delicious to eat. Check out our find an Upper Crust page for your local Upper Crust and we look forward to seeing you soon!
